The liquid polyferric chloride is a brown liquid with a relative density of 1.42. It is easily mixed with water and its aqueous solution is acidic, which has an oxidizing and corrosive effect on metals. When diluted with water, the liquid polyferric chloride hydrolyzes to form ferric hydroxide precipitates, which have strong cohesion.

This versatile agent serves as both a water purification agent for drinking water treatment and a sedimentation purifier for wastewater processing. It effectively removes heavy metals and phosphates from water through wastewater treatment processes. The product also functions as an etching agent in the radio frequency printing circuit and stainless steel industries.
